Test Manager - NEC Housing (Contract)

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Country: UK Rate: £400 - £500 per day

A Test Manager (NEC Housing) is required for our client, based in Sheffield, for an initial 3 months contract (potential to extend). This is a hybrid position, 3 - 4 days per week on site (please only apply if you can commit to hybrid working).

Our client is seeking consultancy support to oversee and execute the testing phase of an NEC Housing system implementation. Please only apply if you have experience of the NEC Housing system.

They need an autonomous test lead, experienced in managing an NEC Housing implementation. They are open to this role being either a Test Manager or a Project Manager with experience of NEC testing phases. The candidate must be hands-on, pragmatic, and able to embed themselves efficiently into our programme team.

To cover the following activities:

  • Reviewing and refining the test schedule, working with the Programme Team and the Delivery Managers of each module (rents, customer services, allocations, estates etc)
  • Managing the execution of the test schedule.
  • Acting as the lead officer for testing sessions; this will entail coordinating testers, guiding them through the process, and supporting them during test activities.
  • Identifying and documenting issues raised during testing, with a view to working with in-house teams and the supplier to reach an acceptable resolution for any faults; this could mean in-house config tweaks or supplier action.
  • Acting as the lead officer when liaising with NEC about issues, and taking ownership for the successful resolution of problems.
  • Updating and maintaining our test tracker power app, so that the programme board has up-to-date stats on the status of test scripts and tests completed.
  • Coordinating with our infrastructure team to ensure that integration testing is meeting requirements, and working with Delivery Managers to schedule end to end test runs.
  • Working with Delivery Managers and relevant senior stakeholders to obtain sign off for testing, and then presenting this to programme board for formal sign off.
  • Providing fortnightly updates to the Programme Delivery Board on the status of testing, raising any issues or risks that need escalating to be unblocked.
  • Working with the Programme Manager to identify timetabling issues and risks, and agreeing mitigation.
