CTO (Permanent)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Country: UK Rate: £100k - £105k per annum + share options

Company Overview:

We are working with a leading FinTech company based in Edinburgh. They specialise in providing innovative financial solutions to clients in the commercial space, leveraging cutting-edge technology and data analytics to deliver exceptional services. They are now looking to bring in an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology team and drive our company's technical vision and strategy forward.

Job Overview:
The CTO will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our company's technology development, including software development, infrastructure, and IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and architecture, as well as experience leading and managing a team of developers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's technology strategy and roadmap in line with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the technology team, including software developers, engineers, and IT professionals.
  • Oversee all aspects of software development, including coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure that the company's technology infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and developments, and make recommendations for technology investments and improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including product management and marketing, to develop and execute technology solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
  • Manage the technology budget and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the technology team and the company's technology systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of successfully leading and managing technology teams.
  • Strong background in software development and architecture, with experience in a variety of programming languages and development frameworks.
  • Experience with FinTech or financial services technology is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement technology strategies and roadmaps that drive business results.
  • Experience with cloud computing, DevOps, and agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and security best practices for financial services technology is preferred.
