The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As such, we operate on a scale that is almost unmatched anywhere in Europe and most people in Britain come into contact with us at some point in their lives.

Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

As a Project Delivery Lead your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing and coordinating the successful delivery of the TCR Resource Augmentation workstreams.
  • Developing, monitoring and managing delivery risks, issues and interdependencies including mitigating strategies, escalating these as appropriate.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the outcomes of the project, collaborating with colleagues from different professions, including Commercial, Digital, Policy and Service Delivery, to deliver the project outcomes at the expected pace.
  • Using good project delivery practices, building strong professional networks, both internally and externally. Providing direction and guidance to support others adopt good project management practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders. Actively engaging senior level support when required.
  • Service design and delivery - creating and leading the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Demonstrating creativity and finding innovative solutions to delivery challenges. Effectively prioritise, change, adapt, iterate and improve at pace based on changing service priorities.

You'll have relevant experience in:

  • Excellent communication skills, to be able to deliver complex information to high level delivery boards and senior leaders in a clear and concise manner. To be able to engage confidently and professionally with senior leaders and with a variety of stakeholders and governance forums.
  • To be able to deliver at pace in a very fast-moving project with multiple priorities, being adaptable and flexible in their approach. Demonstrate responsibility for a diverse range of activities to manage the delivery of a project's objectives on a day-to-day basis, through the project lifecycle.
  • Display exemplary Leadership to be able to support and upskill less experienced colleagues on the team with their experience and behaviours.
  • Experience of working and delivering high level government projects and in enabling the smooth running of a project by applying sound project management disciplines/processes.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSPO, SharePoint, MS Teams and Visio.
  • A Project/Programme Management qualification Prince 2, Agile PM or PMP or equivalent.
