Project Manager - REMOTE/Europe - 8+ Months (Contract)

Location: Europe Country: Czech Republic Rate: Market
 

My client is looking for a Project Manager for a remote working project in Europe.

The right candidate will have 5-10+ years Project Management Experience.

Role: Project Manager

  • Our Project Manager's prime purpose is to ensure that the project produces the required products & outcomes within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope and risk.
  • The Project Manager is also responsible for the project producing a result capable of achieving the benefits defined in the Business Case.
  • The Role owns delivery of all assigned projects - The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Owner, Board or Steerco within the constraints laid down by them.
  • The Role is responsible for leading teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units, whilst owning the full project life cycle.
  • The role will be responsible for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects (typically greater than 12 months, with significant business or high-profile impact, high-risk dependencies, and medium to large size teams) to meet business objectives.
  • Successful delivery will include full implementation from Business Case refinement and from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.

Main Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Prepare the following baseline management products, in conjunction with any Project Assurance roles, and agree them with the Steerco/Project Board:
    • Project Charter, including the Project Scope
    • Benefits Review Plan
    • Project Initiation Document (and its components)
    • Stage/Exception Plans and their Deliverable/Product Descriptions
    • Work Packages or equivalent task instructions
  • Prepare the following reports:
    • 4 Box Status Reports
    • Issues Reports
    • End Stage Reports
    • Lessons Reports
    • Exception Reports/details
    • End Project Reports
  • Maintain the following records:
    • Issue Register
    • Risk Register
    • Daily Log
    • Lessons Log
    • Project Budget Tracker (Forecast vs Actual)
  • Liaise with corporate or #d programme management to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects
  • Liaise with any external suppliers or account managers
  • Lead and motivate the project management team
  • Ensure that company behavioral expectations of team members are established and maintained
  • Manage the information flows between the directing and delivering levels of the project
  • Manage the production of the required products, taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary
  • Establish and manage the project's procedures - governance, risk management, issue and change control, escalations management, and communication
  • Establish and manage the project's controls - monitoring and reporting
  • Authorise Work Packages/deliverables/work instructions
  • Advise the steerco/Project Board of any deviations from the plan
  • Unless appointed to another person(s), perform the Team Manager role
  • Unless appointed to another person (or corporate/programme function), perform the Project Support role (PMO)
  • Ensure project personnel comply with the all company #d and non-technical standards and processes
  • Meet Project Management, 4d and Internal Audits standards and practice expectations and support audit activities across all compliance bodies as appropriate

Technical Skills:

  1. Understanding of Project Management Methodologies: Familiarity with various project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, or Kanban.
  2. Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the project.
  3. Budgeting and Cost Management: Skills in creating and managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control.
  4. Scheduling and Time Management: Proficiency in creating project schedules, setting timelines, and managing resources effectively to meet deadlines.
  5. Scope Management: Ability to define and control project scope, ensuring that the project stays within its intended boundaries.
  6. Quality Management: Understanding of quality standards and methodologies to ensure project deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
  7. Stakeholder Management: Skills in identifying project stakeholders, understanding their needs, and effectively communicating with them throughout the project life cycle.
  8. Change Management: Ability to manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources while minimizing disruptions.
  9. Resource Management: Competence in allocating and managing project resources such as personnel, equipment, and materials.
  10. Technical Knowledge: Depending on the nature of the project, project managers may need technical expertise in specific areas such as software development, engineering, construction, or IT.
  11. Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for project managers to convey information clearly, facilitate collaboration, and resolve conflicts.
  12. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
  13. Documentation and Reporting: Skills in maintaining project documentation, preparing status reports, and communicating project progress to stakeholders.
  14. Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  15. Adaptability and Flexibility: Project managers should be able to adapt to changing circumstances, adjust plans as needed, and remain flexible in their approach.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Must have 5-10+ years of Experience Managing project in a PM role
  • Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, problem-solve, and clearly communicate solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate activities involving multiple players, including vendors, subject matter experts, developers, and end users, to design, configure, and test interfaces.
  • Ability to balance critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionality to resolve complex issues

Competencies:

Different types of project will require different types of project management skills. To be successful, the project Manager must be able to balance the different aspects of the Project Manager role for a particular project.
