1st Line Helpdesk Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Schwalbach am Taunus  Country: Germany Rate: EUR35k - EUR40k per annum

6 month Contract

€35,000 - €40,000 per annum (negotiable, hourly/daily rate also available)

Hybrid - 3 days per week (minimum) in the Frankfurt Head Office

Our client is a Global Technology Manufacturer and leader in innovative Technologies.

Through expansion of their IT Business Unit and digital transformation project, they are looking to hire an experienced 1st Line Helpdesk Engineer to assist in an upcoming migration.

Living in the Frankfurt Germany area, you will be required to work 3 days minimum per week in their Frankfurt Head Office.

Role:

  • Offer first-line technical support to users via phone, email, chat, or in person, resolving technical issues promptly and professionally.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems encountered by users, utilizing appropriate tools and resources.
  • Assist users in understanding and utilizing technology effectively, providing guidance on software applications, system configurations, and best practices.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate teams or senior engineers, providing detailed information and troubleshooting steps to facilitate further investigation and resolution.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software applications, ensuring compatibility, licensing compliance, and optimal performance.
  • Assist with hardware setup, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with security policies and user requirements, including account creation, modification, and termination.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to users with varying levels of technical expertise, using clear and concise language to facilitate understanding and resolution.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of B2 level English & German
  • 2+ years of professional experience in 1st Line Support
  • Strong proficiency in troubleshooting Windows environments.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Proficiency in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for operating systems.
  • Experience in providing technical support for a variety of software applications, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong English language skills (spoken and written), with knowledge of German as a plus.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team and complete tasks in a structured manner.

Applicants must be currently living in the Frankfurt Germany area, and happy to be office based 3 days per week.
