Junior Project Manager/PMO - Hybrid - Inside IR35 (Contract)

Junior Project Manager/PMO - Hybrid - Inside IR35

Our client, a leading global consultancy, are currently looking to hire a Junior Project Manager/PMO to join the team on a contract basis. This role would be hybrid working, with London being the onsite location.

Role Summary:

  • The management of projects, typically (but not exclusively) involving the development and implementation of IT and business processes changes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality
  • Defines, documents and carries out small projects (typically less than six months, with a small team, limited budget, no interdependency with other projects, and no significant strategic impact), actively participating in all project phases
  • Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
  • Prepares realistic project and quality plans and tracks activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances
  • Ensures that own projects are formally closed and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded

Key Result Areas:

  • Effectively estimates costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference
  • Defines documents and safely executes small-scale projects, actively participating in all phases of the project.
  • Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project
  • Prepares and maintains realistic project and quality plans and tracks all activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate
  • Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances
  • Manages the change control procedure, gaining authorisation for revisions to the project(s) from project
  • Ensures that own projects are formally closed and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured and actioned. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes

Essential:

  • Skilled in information and communications technology. Has a good general knowledge of relevant development life-cycles
  • Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation
  • Methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects
  • The identification, assessment and management of project risks, which could result in time or cost over-runs, or failure to deliver products which are fit for purpose
  • Probably educated to degree level or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Prince 2 Foundation or equivalent project management qualification is desirable
  • Techniques which help in modelling and understanding a business and its operation
  • Methods and techniques for reporting progress and financial compliance against an agreed plan
  • Automated tools to assist in the project management process, by automating mechanical tasks such as scheduling, resource balancing, and time recording.
  • Tools and techniques for risk management
