ENGINEERING MANAGER (Payments Platform) (Permanent)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: Paying up to £120,000
 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join one of our exciting clients. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating multiple projects across diverse teams. Your primary focus will be on developing efficient processes, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects while still being hands-on.

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in researching and developing innovative payment products to ensure smoother and easier payments for their customers. You will also be responsible for creating project budgets and overseeing their successful execution throughout the year. Collaborating closely with various teams.

What You'll Do

  • Ability to manage a team of 5-8 members
  • This role is a hands-on managerial position, (75% hands-on)
  • be able optimise the teams objectives, to drive business impact and customer relations.
  • Experience in code design and code reviews
  • Hands-on team member development, 1 to 1s, promotion reviews.
  • Improvement of test practices and techniques such as pair programming

You'll be great for this role if

  • Ideally 7+ years experience in Engineering, and 3 years+ team leading experience
  • Experience using Golang (2 years+)
  • Experience working in an AWS cloud based environment//Infrastructure
  • IaaC experience is a bonus
  • Exposure to working with system distributions

Job Details

  • Paying up to £120,000
  • Hybrid working with 2 days a week in office (locations below)
  • Variable working locations, London (England), Madrid (Spain) or Berlin (Germany)
