Senior Test Engineer (Permanent)

Senior Test Engineer - remote/hybrid - £40,000-£45,000

We are seeking a talented and experienced QA Tester to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through manual and automated testing processes. If you are passionate about quality assurance and possess the required skills and experience, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and product managers, to understand requirements and define test strategies.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of web applications, including Back End systems developed in Laravel and PHP.
  • Implement and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks, with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
  • Perform web accessibility standard testing to ensure compliance with accessibility guidelines and regulations.
  • Utilise Jira for test case management, defect tracking, and collaboration with development teams.
  • Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, ensuring the integrity and reliability of APIs.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback on the quality of software releases and escalate critical issues as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in software testing, with a strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Laravel and PHP development is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Experience with Jira or similar tools for test case management and defect tracking.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
