DevOps Engineer - London - Commod Exchange - FLEX Work (Contract)

Our client, a leading, Global Commodities Exchange is currently seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer based in London (FLEX REMOTE/OFFICE 2-3 days per week) working within the Pre-Trade and Trading Technology team.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively with the Solution Delivery and IT Operations teams to deploy and operate their systems, help automate and streamline their operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations and troubleshoot and resolve issues in their dev, test and production environments.
As a DevOps Specialist, you will also be responsible for establishing the continuous deployment pipeline, managing, monitoring and automating the company infrastructure using a variety of tools. You will also be engaged in shaping the company's strategy for cloud environment usage.
Essential skills:
- Strong coding skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- In-depth experience operating in virtual environments
- Strong, working experience with both Windows and Unix based operating systems.
- Experience working as part of a modern development team; working knowledge of pair programming, testing best practices, automation, peer review
- Must have a good working knowledge of one or more Scripting languages (eg python, Ruby)
- Experience with Atlassian Bamboo, Artifactory, CyberArk
- Kafka - nice to have, but very advantageous
- Practical experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, TDD)
- Understanding of modern CI & CD tools and techniques (Jenkins, Travis, Solano CI)
- Experience working with Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience with version control systems (git or similar)
- Configuration management with Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible/Ansibletower. Puppet expertise preferred
