IT Infrastructure Engineer, Remote, with occasional travel to UK sites, 45K-50K

The core infrastructure for the group is based on the Microsoft Azure and M365 Cloud platforms, and a proven track record in Azure and M365 administration and optimisation is essential. The role will involve a significant element of network management, and will require a solid understanding and practical experience in networking technologies (ideally including SD-WAN) and local area network management. The role will also involve elements of security management and support, and previous experience of security tools administration would be highly desirable.

What You'll do

Infrastructure management, support and delivery for Group IT services. Infrastructure third-line support covering Servers, networking, telephony, M365 and security systems

Microsoft Azure administration, enhancements and support

SD-WAN management and support (based on Fortinet technology)

LAN management and support including VLAN's, switch configuration and setup

Microsoft 365 applications deployment and support

Microsoft Defender platform management and support

Security tools administration and support, including event management

Telecoms management and support, covering Cloud PBX and IVR platforms

PowerShell Scripting and support

Problem management, including root cause analysis and pro-active identification of infrastructure risks

Contributing to the IT roadmap and service improvement plans for infrastructure services

Responding to alerts generated from infrastructure monitoring tools, and resolution within SLA

Implementing changes in line with the IT change management process and CAB

Building close relationships with all IT teams, IT users and third-party vendors.

What You'll need

Proven track record in IT infrastructure management and support (at enterprise-level)

A thorough understanding of modern IT Infrastructure technologies and tools including Cloud delivery, M365, networking, telephony and security systems

MS Azure deployment and administration experience is essential

Extensive experience in the management and support of the M365 technology stack

Microsoft Defender platform management and support

Previous SD-WAN management and support experience is highly desirable (based on Fortinet technology)

LAN management and support - including VLAN's, switch configuration and setup - is essential

Security tools administration and support (previous Cyber Essentials/ISO27001 experience desirable)

Cloud PBX and IVR management and support (desirable)

PowerShell Scripting knowledge and skills

Flexibility to be able to travel and work out of hours where required
