Senior Java Engineer Contract 6-18 Months Dublin.

My client a leading global firm is in urgent need of a talented and experienced Senior Java Engineer to join them on a contract basis for 6 up to 18-24 months and beyond.

This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. These individuals possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.

You will be responsible for contributing to story refinement/defining requirements. You will participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realise a story/requirement through the delivery life cycle.Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.Utilise multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Mentor other Software Engineers and coach team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack.

Successful candidates will have strong Development skills in Java. You will have strong working knowledge of Springboot. Good programming skills including understanding of Algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and multi-threading.Experience with large scale, globally distributed systems with an emphasis on high availability.Experience with Agile development practices. Experience in 3rd Line Production Support. Great team player, with an ability to mentor other team members to enable them to become more established in their role.
