Job Description
The Privacy Office consists of a team of 10 people, including Privacy Officers, someone for awareness, an administrative assistant, and a team leader/CPO. The Privacy Officers advise and support the faculties, services, and Expertise Centers, engage in GDPR compliance, and the development and implementation of policies. They are involved in Data Protection Impact Assessments, reviewing processor agreements, projects (privacy by design), handling data breaches, and handling requests from data subjects. They work partly in the first and partly in the second line of privacy and act as points of contact for other first-line employees (depending on the decentralized organization). Finally, they act as points of contact for privacy issues and maintain close contact with the Data Protection Officer. The various organizational units are served by the team, with each Privacy Officer currently serving as a contact point for one or more units. The Privacy Office has gone through a turbulent period and is now able to rebuild a robust team and increase the privacy maturity of the organization. This is partly done with external colleagues.

Your Responsibilities:
Assessing processing agreements;
Interpreting and processing requests from the services and faculties within your field;
Acting as a point of contact, advisor, and coordinator in case of potential data breaches;
Being a point of contact for various departments with which collaborations exist;
Creating and reviewing DPIAs and DTIAs;
Assessing research proposals in the field of privacy;
Creating awareness in the organization about privacy matters;
Developing, reviewing, and if necessary revising privacy policies, privacy statements, and/or (standard) processes.

Requirements:
You have HBO/WO level of education (preferably a jurist);
You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a Privacy Officer;
You have certification in Privacy (CIPP/E or equivalent)
You have a legal background and interest;
You are familiar with privacy jargon;
You have demonstrable affinity and experience with working in a complex, decentralized public institution;
You are proficient in Dutch and English
