A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Senior Software Engineer (Data Engineering/Data Lake Architecture)

Hybrid (3 days onsite/2 days remote)

As a Senior Software Engineer (Data Engineering/Data Lake Architecture) you will:

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Consult on highly complex initiatives with broad organizational impact focused on Software Engineering and data ecosystem modernization.
• Design, implement, and optimize data lake architectures using layered models such as Bronze/Silver/Gold or equivalent patterns.
• Architect and structure Google Cloud Storage (GCS) or other cloud storage environments following best practices for bucket design, naming conventions, lifecycle management, and data governance.
• Implement and optimize large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and curation workflows.
• Utilize and optimize columnar storage formats (Parquet, Avro, ORC) and advanced compression techniques to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
• Design curated, analytics-ready data models optimized for BI, reporting, and consumption layers.
• Develop and apply advanced partitioning strategies, backfill mechanisms, and data organization techniques for petabyte-scale datasets.
• Review and analyze complex software engineering challenges involving both structured and unstructured data.
• Evaluate unprecedented, ambiguous, or multi-factor scenarios that require strong judgment and deep technical understanding.
• Ensure all solutions align with internal policies, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
• Strategically partner with cross-functional teams, project leads, and client personnel to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide thought leadership and mentorship to technical teams on data engineering best practices and architectural patterns.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and implementing modern data lake architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold or similar).
• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Storage (GCS) or equivalent cloud storage solutions.
• Proficiency working with columnar data formats (Parquet, Avro, ORC) and compression techniques.
• Expertise in data partitioning strategies, backfills, and organizing large-scale datasets.
• Ability to design and deliver curated data models optimized for analytics and BI consumption.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: Between $62 - $69 per hour
.Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
