CarShield is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a SQL Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about database technologies and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Database Development Manager, this position is responsible for:

Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, schemas, tables, indexes, and views to support application requirements.
Helping with migration to new version of SQL Server.
Following coding standards.
Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and other tuning techniques.
Developing new stored procedures and SSIS packages to efficiently provide data for interval websites and analytic software;
Managing imports and exports of data to and from third-party vendors;
Collaborate with DBAs and software developers to integrate database functionality into applications.
Maintaining database documentation regarding changes to the database;
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner, including investigating performance bottlenecks and resolving database errors.
Document database design, configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
Stay up to date with the latest database technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior database administrators and developers.
Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements for SQL Database Engineer:

Must be able to work in-office in St. Peters, MO.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a SQL Database Engineer.
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server in a professional setting.
Understanding of T-SQL queries.
Proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles.
Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Working knowledge of creating and maintaining SSIS packages.
Knowledge of C# scripting in SSIS packages preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
Ability to effectively multi-task.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
