Data Product Manager - Enterprise Data Management Team

Description

Our Asset Management group now operates from 18 cities across 13 countries. Our investment personnel manage US $200 Billion + across a wide range of global, regional and country-specific strategies - both traditional and alternative - in listed equity and fixed income. At our firm, we pride ourselves in balancing the feel of a small firm with the scale of a large global organization.

The Enterprise Data Management team works across the firm to acquire, generate, and steward the data used by all development teams and departments. As a member of the team responsible for building the firm's golden source of data, you will have visibility into all functions from the front office to the back and will specialize in Client Experience activities (Marketing, Sales, and CRM). By working regularly with developers and business users, you will facilitate a dynamic development environment creating a data ecosystem flexible enough to meet the firm's current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities:
A Product Manager at our company fills three main responsibilities:
Product Owner
Develop and communicate the long-term strategic vision for your data systems
Own the internal and external relationships, ETL processes, schema, and data policies for databases supporting front office, PM, Risk and Client Experience functions
Develop comprehensive understanding of workflows, processes, and roles within front office, PM, Risk and CX and become a subject matter expert

Project Manager
Coordinate change management in databases/processes with minimal user interruption
Take an active role in Agile project management using Atlassian tools (eg, JIRA, Confluence)
Take ownership of immediate remediation and long-term solutions when data anomalies are identified

Business Analyst
Gather business requirements, build consensus on optimal solutions, and work actively with the end users and developers throughout the SDLC process with minimal supervision required
Understand upstream and downstream processes relevant to area of expertise and minimize disruptions resulting from development projects
Continuously develop process improvements to reduce error rates and increase automation
Act as data steward to audit, cleanse, and standardize disparate data sources

Key Skills:
Experience in the areas of Master Data Management, Reference Data, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Governance capabilities
Familiarity with SQL queries and database architecture
Experience working in an project management environment with Agile methodology
Self-motivated candidate who can work just as easily as an individual and as a team member
High attention to detail
Well-organized
Strong follow-up, critical thinking, and communication skills
Problem-solving and continuous improvement attitude

Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3+ years' experience in analytically-focused field
Financial services industry experience highly desired
Working experience in a related role
Demonstrated sense of logic, creativity, decision making, and problem resolution
Technological acuteness, as demonstrated by understanding of database concepts and quick progress in learning new applications/software
